Glen O. Davisof Johnson CityGlen O. Davis, 79, of Johnson City, died on Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Wilson Hospital. Odie, as he was called by his friends, was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Joanne. He is survived by his children, Sylvia Dunn, Florida; Glen Davis Jr., North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael and Nick; five great-grandchildren. He grew up in Johnson City and served in the U.S. Navy, Pacific Theater, during the last years of WWII on the L.C.S. 11. After the war he returned to Johnson City and married Joanne Evans and spent the next 30+ years working for Endicott Johnson. Odie was active during his retirement splitting time between playing cards at the Johnson City Senior Citizens Center, bowling and rooting for the N.Y. Mets.The family will receive friends on Friday at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Johnson City Senior Citizens Center, 30 Brocton Avenue, Johnson City, N.Y. 13790.
