Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Village Chapel for Gladys Tidwell Evans Jackson, 83, Gadsden, who died July 12, 2010. The Rev. Billy Boatwright will officiate. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Hoss" Jackson; daughters, Joyce Evans and Wanda Faye Jackson; granddaughter, Terri Jackson; brothers, Lamar and Charles Tidwell; and sister, Nelda Wall. She is survived by children, David J. (Lucinda) Evans, Richard P. (Rita) Jackson, Michael R. (Evelyn) Jackson and Frieda Pastel "Patsy" Jackson; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Cole and Amelia (Harold Wayne) Sitton; brothers, Tim Tidwell and Harold "Chubby" (Patricia) Tidwell; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Aaron Jackson, Stephen Irby, Bill Irby, Josiah Sims, Nick Jackson, Justin Evans, Dale Seguin and Jacob Green.Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Jackson, Jess Evans, Michael Rutledge and Jim Campbell.The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
