Obituary of Gladys-Sanders Cook


GORDO Gladys Sanders Cook, age 89, died Aug. 29, 2012, at Heritage Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Friday at K.P. Cemetery in Russellville with Bro. Ralph Smith and Bro. David Cook officiating and Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence directing. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her parents, Authur Hill and Naomi Byars Sanders, and her husband, Clarence B. "Sarge" Cook.Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Kay Smith (Terry) of Florence; her sons, Kenneth Wayne Cook (Peggy) of Owens Cross Roads and Wilith E. Cook (Judy) of Gordo; her sisters, Emogene Koon (Billy) of Gordo and Linda Ann Watson (Sam) of Fayette; her grandchildren, David D. Cook (Dawn) of Gordo, Sarah Montgomery (Chris) of Northport, Paul Cook of Mandeville, La., Michael Cook of Owens Cross Roads, Jonathan Cook of Birmingham, and Stephen Smith (Jamie) and Nathan Smith, both of Florence; and her great-grandchildren, Matthew Cook, Andrew Cook, Connor Smith, and Logan Smith.Pallbearers will be David Cook, Paul Cook, Michael Cook, Jonathan Cook, Stephen Smith, Nathan Smith, Matthew Cook, and Andrew Cook.Honorary pallbearers are Connor Smith, Logan Smith, and staff of Heritage Nursing Home.
