Gladys-S. Williams, born in 1907, spouse of Richard-Alexander Williams, daughter of Joseph and Katie-Davis, mother of Margaret W, Roy E, Doris, Evelyn, Catherine W and Jack Stewart, died on October 31, 2001 at 94 years old.
Gladys Stewart Williams, 94, of 306 Randall St., died Oct. 31, 2001, at her home. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Katie Davis Stewart, and widow of Richard Alexander Williams. A retired weaver from Judson, she was a member of Friendship Full Gospel Church. She was a former member of Victor Baptist Church, where she taught the Lydia Bible Class for 33 years. Surviving are a daughter, Margaret W. Grice, and a son, Roy E. Williams, of Greenville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette S. Glazner, of Simpsonville. She was predeceased by three daughters, Doris Williams, Evelyn Rochester and Catherine W. Hardwick; and a son, Jack Stewart Williams. Receiving: 6 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Section B. The families are at their respective homes.
