GLADYS EVELYN RAY MORRISONHOSCHTON, GA - Former Asheville resident, Gladys Evelyn Ray Morrison, 74, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2012 in Gainesville, GA.Gladys was born March 13, 1938 in Madison County, NC, graduated from Biltmore High School in 1956, and later relocated to Florida and then Georgia. She worked for the Atlanta Housing Authority as a Property Accountant for many years before retiring in 1995.She is survived by her son, Mike Morrison of Hoschton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Tim Lambert of Jasper, GA; good friend and father of her children, Ron Morrison of Gainesville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Rachel Ray of Weaverville, NC, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Woodby of Othello, WA; sisters-in-law, Jeneil Ray of Candler, NC, and Barbara Morrison Taylor of Asheville, NC; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends. Gladys was preceded in death by her son, Donald Kevin Morrison; mother, Elsie Mae Waldroup Ray Woodby; father, Bascomb Ray; and brother, Charles Ray.Gladys was loved by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished by her family and friends.A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church, 225 Sardis Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
