Mrs. Gladys Peters, went to be with our Lord March 13, 2011, at 97 years of age. Mrs. Peters was born Feb 18, 1914 to Columbus and Rosa Presley Thompson in Rockingham N.C. She was a wonderful mother, and grandmother. She was the best cook around, and we all knew her wit, she was a trooper. Mrs. Peters lived a long time, and saw so many changes in this world. She loved to read, tell stories, and enjoy life. She will be greatly missed. We love you Mom. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peters is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Peters; a son, Kenneth Peters; two daughters, Gloria Eifert and Vivian Magana, and a granddaughter, Angela Peters. She is survived by a son, Larry Peters and wife, Carol of Bonifay; two daughters, Shirley Calhoun and husband, Harold of Ozark, AL and LaVitra Brooke of Bonifay; 12 grandchildren, Glenn Putnam, Tommy Barefoot, John Magana, Robby Hamke, Wendy Putnam, Cindy Harris, LaVitra McDonald, Kelly Magana, Ben Calhoun, Debbie Flowers, Scheryl Flowers, Laura Flowers; 24 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Memorialization was by cremation with Peel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
