UntitledGLADYS MARSH JOHNSON1913-2009Gladys Marsh Johnson, 96, and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Johnson (Johnny) and her son, William G Johnson (Jerry).She was born in Florala, Alabama, on July 7, 1913, but lived most of her life in the Brownsville/Pensacola area. She was an active member of the Brownsville Baptist Church and the Sunday School Department until her health declined in her later years.She is survived by two sons, James T. Johnson (Jimmy and Martha) and John Kenneth Johnson (Ken and Sherry), daughter-in-law, Joye Johnson (Jerry and Joye), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, nieces and nephews, two sisters, Virginia Painter and Beth Wunderli, as well as many friends.Bayview Fisher Pou is in charge of arrangements. The viewing will be from 10:00 to 10:45 with services at 10:45 on Wednesday morning, August 19, 2009, at the Brownsville Baptist Church, 2601 West Strong Street, Pensacola, Florida. Burial will follow at 11:45 at Barrancas Cemetery. Dr. John Pavlus will officiate.The family would like to give special thanks to Consulate Healthcare for their excellent care of several years and to Emerald Coast Hospice for their care and concern during her final days.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund at Brownsville Baptist Church.
