LEE, Glady Irene Glady Irene Lee (daughter of Walter and Agnes Dow) passed away peacefully at age 88 years on January 4, 2010 at Valhaven Extended Care facility in Abbotsford, B.C. Glady is survived by her loving husband of 64 years John, John's sister Helen, 5 daughters Mary Austin (Rodger), Linda Sanger, Wendy Slavin (Carl), Diane Pastor (Al), Barbara Grimmer (Bruce), 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Flo Dow and brother-in-law Ray Meade. Glady is also survived by her sister Rose and was predeceased by sisters Lorna and Iris, brothers Walt and Bill, and a son-in-law Ian. Glady and John met while working for CIBC at the Ladysmith, B.C. branch prior to World War 11. Glady served in the RCAF (signal corp division) during the war, achieving the rank of corporal. She and John were married in 1946 following John's return from service overseas. They started their married life in Kamloops, BC and also resided in Prince George, Burnaby, Williams Lake and Saltspring Island before retiring to Parksville in 1985. Family was everything to Glady and she was very proud of her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to entertain and she will be remembered for her sense of humour, competitive spirit, and desire to have friends and family around her at all times. Mum was happiest working in her garden and her love and appreciation of gardening has been passed on to her girls and a number of her grandchildren. Our parents considered themselves very fortunate to be together until separated by death. At their request, no funeral ceremony or memorial service will be held. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. We are forever grateful for the care extended by staff at Valhaven to our mum Glady and their continuing care for our father John. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to your charity of choice. Wiebe & Jeske - 604-859-5885
