<!-- FH = Beggs Funeral Home - Perry Chapel --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Gertrude WilliamsonMrs. Gertrude Williamson of Tallahassee passed away at Doctors' Memorial Hospital in Perry, FL on Saturday, November 9th, 2013 at the age of 94. Mrs. Williamson was born on April 2, 1919 in Alma, GA to E.L. (Elza) and Rosella Winge. She resided with her husband George W. Williamson in Savannah, GA until 1993 when they moved to Perry and later Tallahassee, FL to be closer to family.Mrs. Williamson worked with the United States Corp of Engineers for nearly 40 years until her retirement. She enjoyed entertaining friends, playing bridge and was very involved with her church. She also enjoyed volunteering as a Pink Lady at a Savannah hospital. Mrs. Williamson will be remembered as a very intelligent and classy lady who was always willing to help out her family and friends in any way she could.She loved to stay on top of current events, and enjoyed discussing topics with those around her. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family. Mrs. Williamson is survived by her niece, Rose Lastinger (husband, Danny Lastinger) of Perry, FL as well as Rose's children Robbie Lastinger (son, Cooper) of Tallahassee, FL and Rodney Lastinger (sons Jackson and Mason) of Milton, GA. She is also survived by her niece Ann Jeffords (husband Dennis and daughter Nicole) of St. Augustine, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband George Williamson, parents Rosella and Elzie Winge and sisters Louise Taylor and Willene Dukes.A private memorial service will be held at Hillcrest cemetery in Savannah, GA where Mrs. Williamson will be laid to rest next to her late husband George.
