SCOTT, Gertrude Claire January 6th, 1908 - August 4th, 2006 "She was one hell of a lady" Mom passed away peacefully in her "Edmonton Home" with Libby and Jim at her side. She was ready for her life to end. Could it have been otherwise, she would have wished her death to occur in her garden, in her backyard, in Kinistino. Mom was predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Alice Ozmun, her sister, Lois Armstrong and her husband, Jerrold, and her brother-in-law, Frank Rawlinson. She was also predeceased by her loved and loving husband, "Scottie" (Bill) and daughter "Mimi" (Mary Alice). Next to her family, Mom loved her garden and Kinistino, and all of its characters, friends and family. She enjoyed nothing more than a "tour of the crops" in the country side in late summer or early fall.... Sadly, she will miss this years "tour." It was only a few weeks ago that mom was diagnosed with a stomach cancer. It acted quickly. Mom leaves to celebrate a life well lived, her loved and loving daughter, Elizabeth, and Elizabeth's children, Andrew, Scott and Shannon; and her loved and loving son, Jim, and his sons Jeffrey and Stuart, and Stuart's wife, Gillian. She is also survived by her two Ozmun sisters, Fern Jones and Billie Rawlinson; numerous nephews and nieces in Canada and the United Kingdom. Surviving her as well is her "special grandchild", Mathew Constant. Special thanks for her care goes to all of the staff at Lifestyles Options, Edmonton, Dr. Trent Dusang, Dr. Paul Yong, Dr. Jan Moe of Kinistino (for years of care), and the Edmonton Palliative Care nursing staff. A Celebration of her life well lived, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 14th, 2006 at the Kinistino Legion Hall, Kinistino, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory and name to the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation has taken place.
