Gertrude Ouellette, born in 1912, spouse of Anita M. Ouellette, daughter of Paul Lefort and Elfried E, mother of Jon, Victoria, Wendi, Belnan, Carol Marie, Fl, Robert Joseph and Donald Ernest, died on August 21, 2014.
Gertrude B. (Lefort) Ouellette, 101 died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 21, 2014 following a declining period of health at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick. She was born in Ware on October 29, 1912 the daughter of the late Paul Lefort and Elfried E. (Gareau) Lefort. Gertrude was the loving and devoted mother of Carol Marie Ouellette of Estero, FL; Robert Joseph Ouellette and his wife Anita M. Ouellette of Wayland and Donald Ernest Ouellette and his wife Bootan-Ann Ouellette of Brimfield. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Peter, Brian and David Ouellette and adored great-grandmother of Jeffrey and Joshua Ouellette. She is also survived by two nieces and 2 nephews. Gertrude has been a resident of Wayland for over ten years and resided at the Cochituate Village apartments. She spent her formative years in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School. Most of her life she was a resident of Brimfield and East Longmeadow before moving to Wayland. For over ten years, she was the personal secretary and bookkeeper to the Vice-President at the Springfield National Bank. For over 25 years she was the bookkeeper for Agway, Inc., an agriculture supply company before retiring. She served for several years as the eastern secretary for the Eastern States Farm Exchange. She loved to make gifts for her family and friends and especially enjoyed doing needlework, handi-crafts and attending craft shows. She was a past president for the East Longmeadow Senior Citizens Club and was an active member for years with the Wayland Senior Citizens Club. While residing in Wayland, Gertrude was a communicant at St. Zepherins Church in Wayland. Her family would like to extend a warm and personal note of gratitude to the wonderful staff at Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehab Center who cared for Gertrude these past few years. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherins Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27) Wayland. Interment will follow in St. Zepherins Cemetery in Wayland. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial gifts in Gertrudes memory may be sent to the Mary Ann Morse Employees Fund, 45 Union Street, Natick, MA 01760 and would be greatly appreciated.
