Gertrude Jackson Williams Gertrude Jackson Williams, 84, a retired maintenance worker for the New York School System, died Sept. 15, 2009, in Tallahassee, FL. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, Sept. 26, at Flipper Chapel AME Church, with burial at Southside Cemetery. Strong & Jones Funeral Home (850-224-2139) is handling the arrangements.Ms. Williams was a devoted and faithful member of Flipper Chapel AME Church where she served on Usher Board No. 1, the Sunday School and the Kitchen Committee. She leaves to mourn her passing Julia Johnson, her caregiver and cousin, along with many other cousins and friends and the Heritage Convalescent Health Care personnel.
