DAWES (Bastien), Gertrude - Peacefully, at Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday, August 7th, 2007. Gertrude (nee Brooks) of Burford in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Dawes (1974) and Al Bastien (1996); Loving mother of Elwood and Jane Dawes and Marlene and Ray Allgood, all of Burford; Cherished grandmother of Terry Lyn and Randy Norman, Randy and Barb Allgood, Shelly and Phil Hensen, Brian and Debbie Allgood, Brent and Cathy Dawes, Blair Dawes, Trisha and Eric Andree, Alisha Dawes; Great grandmother of 15 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Predeceased by sisters Marian Cooper and Nellie Spurgeon and brother Arthur Brooks. Gertrude will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the KEITH OVINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 134 King Street, Burford on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Pioneer Cemetery, Burford. A Rebekah Service under the auspices of Claremont Rebekah Lodge #273 will be held on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations in Gertie's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Burford Optimist Youth Fund (Splash Pad).
