Obituary of Geraldine-L. Smith


Geraldine L. Smith Utica Geraldine L. Smith, 93, formerly of Holland Patent, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the Masonic Care Community. She was born on March 21, 1915, in Utica, a daughter of the late Archibald and Minnie Petrie Langton. She married Charles Dennis Smith on December 19, 1941, in Whitesboro, and he died on August 11, 1967. She worked for Mele Manufacturing for many years and retired in 1980. Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Clark and her husband, John, of Holland Patent; a son, Robert Smith and his wife, Brenda, of Hernando, MS; a brother, Willard Langton and his wife, Marguerite, of Ft. Meyers; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Masonic Care Community for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Smith. The funeral will be on Friday at 2:00 from the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in Grand View Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Masonic Care Community in memory of Mrs. Smith. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
