On Saturday, December 22, 2007, Georgia Ruth Mitchell passed away at the age of 86. She was born to Renzee and Elsie Mayfield on September 3, 1921. She attended Pleasant Hope High School where she graduated in 1939. She was married to William H. "Bill" Mitchell and to this union four children were born, Larry Mitchell, Diana Shanks, Vickie Stoker and Rex Mitchell. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Dale Mayfield; one grandson, Brent Stoker; and one great-grandson, Darryk Francka. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
