Georgia Mae Weems Johnson, 61, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, at 12 noon at St. Annis Primitive Baptist Church, 502 S. Orange Avenue, DeLand, Elder Eugene Johnson, pastor, with Elder Kenneth Duke, Moderator East Florida Association, eulogist. Interment will be Monday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa. Repose is from 10 a.m. until service time at St. Annis Primitive Baptist Church. Flowers may be delivered to Arthur Mack Funeral Home, 727 S. Stone Street, DeLand, FL 32721. A native of Palmetto, Fla., she was a retired educator dedicating more than 30 years of service to the School District of Hillsborough County. Serving faithfully at St. Annis P. B. Church in DeLand, she was active at every level of the Primitive Baptist Church: local, district, state and national in various capacities and offices too numerous to mention. Survivors include: her husband of 40 years, Pastor Eugene Johnson; children, Leonard, Reginald (Debra), Virgil (Suzette), Veronica and Cheryl (Edward); father, W. J. Weems, Sr.; mother, Jerline Weems; 13 siblings; aunt, Louise Love; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, devoted godchildren; special friend, Gracie Williams; and her loving church family.
