George Warren Parker passed away on April 21, 2013, in Newcastle, Maine. Arrangements are by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert, Maine. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com. George graduated from Wesleyan University, Middletown, Conn., class of 1938. He served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant during World War II. Until his retirement, George was the owner of the George Parker Insurance Agency in New Bedford, Mass. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marjorie Heckel Parker; two daughters, Joyce P. Dexter and Judith P. VanderSalm; four grandchildren, Scott Stevenson, Sarah Matel, Jessica VanderSalm, and Jamie VanderSalm, and two great-grandchildren, Seward Matel and Teddy Matel.
