George W. Tyrrell Sr. August 22, 1928 - November 25, 2007 KILLINGWORTH - George W. Tyrrell Sr., of 22 Beechwood Rd, Killingworth, passed away Sunday November 25, 2007. Born August 22, 1928 in New Britain and raised in Southington. He was the husband of Carol (Hall) Tyrrell for almost 60 years. He was a fun loving man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He adored his wife and family and will be sadly missed. Besides his wife, he leaves behind his four children, four grandchildren and one great grandson. His son George W. Tyrrell Jr. and wife Dede of New Britain, CT and their daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Anthony Entenza of Palm Beach, FL., his son Larry Tyrrell of Uncasville, CT and Larry's 3 children Michael, Becky and Carly and great grandson Mateo Tyrrell of New Britain, his daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Jim Corvello of Madison and his son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Valerie Tyrrell of Dearborn Heights, MI. George retired superintendent of the D.O.T. of CT. After retirement he worked for M&ampJ Bus. Co. in Lisbon. He was past Commodore of the Pattaconk Yacht Club. He loved boating and camping. He was an army paratrooper in WWII. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111. A memorial service will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook on Friday, November 30th at 1:00 p.m.
