Obituary of George-W. Davis


George Wallace "Wally" Davis, 66, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Mountain Springs Cemetery. Charlie W. Thompson will officiate.Mr. Davis was a native of Lauderdale County, but lived most of his life in Colbert County. He was a member and served as a deacon of Mountain Springs Baptist Church.Wally graduated from Cherokee Vocational High School and attended Florence State Teachers College. He was retired from Amoco Chemical of Decatur and served in the U.S. Air Force both here and abroad.His parents, William Survivors include his wife, Hilda N. Davis of Tuscumbia; sons, William L. Davis and wife, Donna, of Tuscumbia, Robert W. Davis and wife, Renee, of Nashville, Tenn., George M. Davis and wife, Angie, of Tuscumbia; six grandchildren, Brittnay Davis, Chase Davis, Alea Davis, Ashton Davis, Blaine Davis and Krista Oswalt.Pallbearers are Larry Collum, Eddie Drane, Buddy Muse, Chase Davis, Phillip Duncan and Lynn Robbins. Honorary pallbearer is Blaine Davis.Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
