Obituary of George-Richard Clarke

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. George Clarke, an Augusta resident, died on Friday, March 7, 2008. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 9, 2008 from 4:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 3686 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Ga. 706-798-8886. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 11:30a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Rich Bowen will officiate. Committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. George was preceded in death by his father George Washington Clarke and his grandson Travis Michael Hopkins. George is survived by his wife, Maria Brasell Clarke of Hephzibah; his mother, Marie Rabun Clarke of Augusta; his sons, David Anthony Clarke and Johnny Alexander Clarke both of Edgefield, S.C., his daughters, Regina Lohrman and Bobbi Lohrman both of Hephzibah; and Alena Murray of Texas; his sister, Kathleen Clarke Stanley and her husband Daniel F. Stanley of Augusta; his brothers Russell E. Clarke, of Augusta; and Douglas Christopher Clarke of Hephzibah, and nine grandchildren.
