MIDDLETOWN - George Roger Palardy, of Middletown, husband of Carol Frederick Palardy, died on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011.Born on Jan. 27, 1933, the son of the late Hormidas and Eugenie Deschamps Palardy, Mr. Palardy retired from First National Supermarkets on Sept. 15, 1993, after 40 years of service as a meat cutter. He was a member of Local 371 UFCW-AFL-CIO and was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Silver City Council 2. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant and received an honorable discharge Feb, 11, 1954. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Prior to this, he served one year in the Naval Reserve.He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Patricia Owen Palardy; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Marti Gomez Palardy; seven grandchildren, Jessica Palardy Foley and her husband, Todd, Annesley, Elizabeth, John Mark and Christian Palardy, of North Carolina, and Justin and Alanna Palardy, of New York. He is also survived by one brother, Father Gaston Palardy, of Canada; two sisters, Helen Dominello and her husband, Matthew, and Irene Sudol and her husband, Stanley. George was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Louise Palardy; a son, Kurt Thomas Palardy; sister, Fern Kaczenski; and a nephew, Danny Sudol.The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 9:15 a.m., from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Middletown, for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial with military honors will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
