George R. Maguire died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at home in Bloomfield, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at O'Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St., Bloomfield, on Monday at 9 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair, N.J. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. George was born in Hoboken, N.J., and lived in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., before settling in Bloomfield in 1971. He was a psychologist for IRI of Fairfax, Va. George was inducted into the Hoboken High School Hall of Fame as well as the Hudson County Hall of Fame. He was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he also played football. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn MacBrair Maguire for 46 years; and dear brother of Veronica Geiger of Lakewood, N.J.
