STOECKEL George M. Stoeckel Sr. Husband, father, brother, grandfather, 59 George M. Stoeckel Sr., 59, of Newark and Green Valley, Ariz., passed away suddenly on Friday, April 11, 2008, in Arizona. The funeral will be from Shooks Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove, on Thursday, April 17. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield at 10 a.m. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Wednesday, April 16. Born in Newark, George grew up in Irvington before moving back to Newark. He also owned a home in Arizona, where he was planning to retire. He was a graduate of Essex Catholic High School and Seton Hall University. He was currently employed by Dingmans Dairy in Paterson. George was the beloved husband of Doris (Snowden) for 41 years. He was also the devoted father of George and his wife, Leslie, of Hammondsport, N.Y., Nancy of Bloomfield, Jennifer and her husband, Andrae, of Middletown and Amanda Edwin and her husband, Kwesi, of Plainfield. George is also survived by his brother, James, and his wife, Florence, of Bloomfield and his sister, Bernadette Paragano of Edison. He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren, John, Anthony, Robert, Mikaela, Bryanne, Zachary and Ryan; his loving aunt, Regina Clarke, along with his many nieces, nephews and cousins, and his many close friends in Arizona will always remember him and his wonderful sense of humor. He will also be forever missed by his two best friends, his dogs, Molly and Maggie. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the John M.
