-->George "Sleepy" Lee NEWNAN, GA-- George E. "Sleepy" Lee, 77, of Newnan, GA, formerly of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Born January 14, 1931, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Jessie Clifton and Nell Gossett Lee. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, he was a retired supervisor with Transcontinental. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, an Eagle Scout, a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a Master Mason and member of Poplar Springs Masonic Lodge #415, a member of OES Chapter 46, the American Legion, the Marine Corp League, and the VFW. Survivors include his wife, Martha Starnes Lee; two daughters, Tracie Camp and her husband Mark of Newnan, GA, and Christy Moore and her husband Tim of Sumter, SC; four granddaughters, Jamie Chapman of Newnan, GA, Lindsey Perry of Patterson, LA, Katherine Moore and Elizabeth Moore, both of Sumter, SC; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Jack C. Lee; and a sister, Jenny Lee Rodgers. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert Bevill. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
