LARSEN, George P. It is with sadness that we announce the death of George P. Larsen on August 24th, 2007 in his 89th year. George was born the 8th of 9 children to Peter and Mary Larsen at Redcliffe, Alberta. He moved with his family to Haynes, Alberta in 1926 where he attended St. Patrick's Country school. He worked for local farmers until he joined the army. He returned from overseas in 1946 and settled in the Saanichton area where he and Myra were married. From Bombardier in the army, to volunteer fireman, house builder, rural mail carrier, fixer of engines of any kind, to grape grower; George's skills, kindness and generosity touched so many lives. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Myra; sons, Allen (Glenda), Barry; daughters Kathy (Bob), Thaylin (Doug); 3 grandchildren; Brad (Danielle), Jennie and Hali; one brother Lawrence (Olga); brother-in-law Henry Clark and sister-in-law Pearl Larsen. We thank the staff of Beacon Community Services for their Home Support over the years, and the compassionate Staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital.
