Terry George Terry Jackson - SAVANNAH - George Terry Jackson, 68, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2012, at Hospice House, Savannah. He was born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, on October 27, 1943, to the late George S. Jackson and Irma C. Jackson. Terry Graduated from Falls Church High School in Virginia and was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Atlantic Christian College in 1966. After two years in the U.S. Army, he graduated from the University of Georgia Law School in 1971, and was sworn into the Georgia Bar in 1971. He has been practicing in criminal law in Savannah since 1974. He is the Past President of the Savannah Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Attorney's, the Savannah Association of Criminal Defense Attorney's, the Savannah Lion's Club, served as co-chairman of the State Bar Committee for post-conviction representation for over 10 years and has served on the Board of Director's of the Georgia Resource Center since its inception. His favorite past-times were telling stories to his grandchildren, traveling, and fishing. Terry is survived by his loving wife Jane; son, Scott (Diane); daughter, Rebecca (Clinton); Step-daughter, Stephanie (Bill) and grandchildren, Holden Jackson, Morgan Jackson, MaryBeth Jackson, Anna Carey, Jack Carey and Abigail Cave. Brother to Irma Lowry (Bob) of King George, Virginia. He is also survived by aunts and cousins. The family would like to thank his special caregivers and the wonderful staff at Hospice House, Savannah, for their kind and loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity fund of the Savannah Lion's Club or to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31406. The family will receive guests Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA.
