JACKSON, George Samuel February 4, 1916 - March 2, 2011 On March 2, 2011 George,in his own words "Slipped through the hole in the fence". Born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan and wedded to Doris for 68 years, George embodied all that was the spirit of the West. He was a cowboy, oilman, entrepreneur, rancher, gardener, fisherman, woodworker, collector, world traveller, birdwatcher, wildlife aficionado, storyteller, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. More than that, George was famous for his unparalleled capacity to make and keep friends; his breakfasts of cackleberries, sow belly and sheep-dip; his perfectly barbequed steaks, his songs for every occasion, his huge vocabulary of expressions both poignant and appropriate, his sometimes exotic but freely shared economic views, and finally, and most definitely, his massive affection for life and his family. Be seeing you through the spring in the mattress Ol' Buddy. Love Always, Your family.
