George J. Peterson, 64, Englewood, died June 24, 2004. He was born Feb. 18, 1940 in Amsterdam, N.Y., and came to Englewood 27 years ago from Amsterdam. He served in the New York National Guard. He worked as a union carpenter in Albany, N.Y. He attended Englewood United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Whittey of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers Andrew, James and Gerald, all of New York; sisters Margaret and Mary Fredeil, both of New York; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Doan Chapel of Englewood United Methodist Church. Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Englewood Chapel, is in charge.
