HURLEY, George Stretton April 6, 1925 - April 9, 2011 George passed away at the age of 86 at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans. He was born in Porcupine Plains, Sask. Before going off to serve with the Royal Canadian Air Force he was an Assistant Post-master. After the war he met and married Gwendoline (June) LaTrace. Later they moved to Alberta where he joined the oilfield. They moved to different parts of the world before coming back to Canada where he eventually retired after 27 years in the oilfield. George was predeceased by his parents, four sisters and one brother, his wife June and his son Shaun. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Cherine, son-in-law Terry and grandkids Colin and Racine. He will also be missed by his half brothers and sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Respecting his wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
