SMITH, George Charles (Mick) Passed away peacefully on December 13, 2004 at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his parents William and Catherine Smith, his sister Patricia, brother-in-law Alex Burns and his second wife Maxine. He is survived by his sister Babe (Roger) Windle, first wife Ruth, sons, Mike (Marg), Murray (Wilma) of Duncan and daughter, Marilyn (Tom) Thomas of Victoria, also eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A veteran of WWII, he served in the navy. Mick was also an avid sports man. He played soccer and basketball and was well regarded as a top catcher on many fastball teams. He was the winner of the Charles McDonald Sportsmanship Award in 1960 for the Canadian Navy. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Glenwarren Central Park Lodge for the excellent care Dad received during his stay. Memorial Service will be held in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria, BC on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 12:00 noon. 21469
