COLONIE Genevieve Anderson, 76, of Colonie, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2003 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Gen was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Euphemia DeRouville Weldon and stepdaughter of the late John F. Weldon. She was a Colonie resident for most of her life. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker, and more recently, worked for Albany Memorial Hospital in the medical records department before her retirement. She was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Albany, teaching Sunday school there several years ago. Mrs. Anderson was a life member of the Capt. Wm. Dale OBrien Marine Corp. League Detachment Auxiliary and an auxiliary member of the Westmere Fire Dept. She belonged to the Senior Citizens at St. Clares Church. Gen was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. She is the beloved wife of the late Donald D. Anderson Sr. She is the devoted mother of Donna Turner and her husband, John of Lake Luzerne, Tina Brown and her husband, Woody of Walling, Tenn., Lynn Heffernan and her husband, James of Schenectady, Lori Wiley and her husband Charles of Colonie, Donald D. Anderson Jr. of Colonie and the late Ronald Charles Anderson. She is the sister of Rose Lundgren, Mary Anderson, Josephine Geisel, Ruth McIntyre, John F. Weldon Jr., Charles Weldon, Frank Weldon and Donald Weldon. Gen was the special friend of Eva and Irwin Andrews. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Johns Lutheran Church at 11:00. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 160 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206, Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Genevieve Anderson.
