GARY O. GRAY (1937 - 2010) Gary O. Gray, 72, of Toronto died March 26, 2010 of cancer. He held both an ARCT (Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto) and an LCTL (Licentiate of Trinity College of Music, London). He is survived by his brother Joel E. Gray of Chicago. During his career Gary taught special education, French and music at Church Street, Annette, Kent and Lord Dufferin Schools and was President of the Ontario Public School Teachers' Federation (Toronto District) from 1991 to 1993. His love in life, in addition to education, was music. Over the years he was Organist and Choir Director at several churches in the Toronto area, most recently at St. Philip the Apostle Anglican Church. He started the Naval Club Glee Club in 1994 and remained as its Director until his death. The Naval Club Glee Club brought joy to thousands of senior citizens as it performed at nursing homes, hospitals and other venues several times a week. Gary was a member of the Royal Canadian College of Organists and a social member of the Naval Club. A short memorial service and a celebration of his life will be held at the Naval Club (located at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 17 Elm Avenue, Toronto, near Yonge and Dundas) at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2010.
