Gary Lyle Hill, "Greasey" to his friends, died Friday, July 21, 2006, at UAMS Hospital. Gary was born in Boonville, Missouri, to Palmer Lewis and Lena Grigsby Hill, on September 30, 1937. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Jean Rodebush. Gary is survived by his life partner, Jerry Ann Hill of Little Rock, Ark. his three constant companions, Gertrude, Luther and Hilda Ronald and Dorcas Hill Kelly and Alan Tillery, all of Springfield, Mo. Mark, Sherry, and Cassie Rodebush, of Round Rock, Texas David, Susan, Palmer and Sydney Hill, of McKinney, Texas Deborah, Shane and Wesley Scott, of Riverside, Calif. and a host of very special friends from here and around the world. Gary graduated from Central High School and Southwest Missouri State University, in Springfield, Missouri. During his college years, he served in the Navy Reserve and worked his way through school at the family owned Hills What-A-Burger. Upon graduation, he taught Spanish at Neosho High School before attending Kansas University, where he received a Masters in Spanish Theater and Mathematics, while working as an assistant instructor of Spanish. From 1958 to 1963, he attended the University of Guanajuato, Mexico, where he was the Assistant Registrar of summer school and taught Spanish. Gary joined Jacuzzi in 1964 and traveled the world. In 1973, Jacuzzi transferred Gary and Jerry to Africa, where they lived for six years. In 1980, Gary was named President of Jacuzzi International and retired in 1986. Gary did international consulting for AMW Industries, Aermotor, Midsouth Pump Company, and J-Line Pump Company before retiring from the water industry. In 1995 he helped form a real estate company with Jerry and Rusty Armstrong which became ERA Armstrong Team REALTORS and at his death he was a partner and financial consultant for the company. Gary was appointed to the Arkansas District Export Council by three different Secretaries of State. He served on the first ADFA's Board, the first Arkansas Biomedical Board at UAMS and the board of directors of Jacuzzi Mexico. A friend once said, "If someone asked you to name the perfect job, I would tell them it's Gary Hill's. He got to travel the world first class, eat gourmet food, drink good whiskey, and live life to the fullest."
