ISCHUA - Gail Kessler-Davis, 75, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. Gail was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Ischua, to Ralph and Aladene Kessler. She married Walter Davis on Jan. 27, 1957, in Ischua.Gail attended Franklinville High School. She was a graduate of the Herman Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a nurse at Herman Hospital, Dr. Gonzalez's office, Dr. Rocha's office and the University of Houston Main Campus Student Health Center. Gail leaves behind her husband, Walter Davis; two daughters, Polly Derrick and Sue Carlile; a son, Eric Davis; seven grandchildren, Jason Derrick, Sara Eakin, Thomas Davis, Travis Carlile, Tyler Davis, Taylor Davis and Annie Carlile; two great-grandchildren, Jasper Derrick and Maximus Eakin; her mother, Aladene Kessler; a brother- and sister-in-law, Thomas and Toni Kessler; and many nieces, nephews and family friends. Gail is predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather Derrick, in 1985; and a son, Steven Davis, in 2009.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the Ischua Baptist Church in Ischua, with a reception following at the family home.
