Obituary of Gail-Greaves-Blake Marshall


Petaluma, Calif. - Gail Greaves Blake Marshall passed away peacefully on May 16, 2010, surrounded by loved ones. A native of Maine, she attended Waterville schools, graduated summa cum laude, and became certified as a laboratory technician at Thayer Hospital School of Medical Technology, Waterville.In October of 1962 she married C. William (Bill) Blake and they had a daughter, Felicia. In 1986 she moved to Sonoma County, Calif., and married Arthur Marshall. They were married for 13 years until his passing in 1998. While in California, she worked for the Personal Stamp Exchange as a data analyst for 10 years until retiring in 2006.Gail was a resident of the Sandalwood Estates in Petaluma. For the past seven years, she has been a companion and fiancé to William Donahue. Together they have tirelessly fought for the rights of elderly park residents as active members of the Golden State Manufactured Home Owners Association. She was also an active member of the Women's Auxiliary and the Petaluma Veterans Group. Gail was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, crafting and playing the piano.Gail is survived by her fiancé, William Donahue of Petaluma; her daughter, Felicia, and son-in-law, Norm Bernier, of Greene, Maine; and their children, Brooke, Morgen and Kyle; her chosen daughter, Kristi Nichols, of Fairfield, Maine; a brother, James Greaves, and wife Elaine of Johnston, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Jill) Lebel of Auburn, Maine, and Mrs. Peter (Terry) Marden of Belfast, Maine, as well as several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended members from the Marshall and Donahue families.Please join us in celebrating Gail's life on Saturday, June 19, at 1 p.m. at the Turner Highland Country Club in Turner, Maine.Memorial contributions can be made to The Peter and Gypsy Grauet Family Room at Petaluma Valley Hospital in Petaluma, CA 94954.
