DaLEE, Gladys Tucker, 98,passed away August 24,2011 at Crowne HealthCare. She was born November 6, 1912 in Repton,AL and grew up in Monroeville, AL. Gladys was agraduate of the Universityof Alabama where she metand married her husband.In 1937, she and her familymoved to Evergreen whereshe retired after manyyears as a Social Workerfor the State of AL, Pensionsand Security. Gladys andher husband, Raymond,were active in the MobileArea Winnebago CampingGroup ""MAWS"". After herhusband's death in 1981,she moved to Montgomeryto be near her two children. A member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, shewas active in SundaySchool and Young at Heartfor many years. She waspreceded in death by herhusband, Raymond Douglas DaLee, Sr. and her parents, Effie Mae & ArchieBranchard Tucker.Survivors include herdaughter, Barbara DaLeeChambers, Montgomery,AL; son, Raymond (Katie)Douglas DaLee, Jr., Anniston, AL; a sister, Fannie LouRussell, Monroeville, AL; sixgrandchildren, Michael(Kay) Chambers, Florence,SC, Jacqueline Chambers(Stephen) Eckell, Auburn,AL, Terri DaLee, Anniston,AL, Stephen (Liz) Chambers, Montgomery, AL, Raymond DaLee III, Anniston,AL & DaLee Chambers,Prattville, AL; six greatgrandchildren, Jon (Candice) Chambers, Houston, TX, Andrew Chambers,Austin, TX, Marc Chambers,Houston, TX, StephenChambers, Jr., Sewanee,TN, Mary Elizabeth Chambers, Montgomery, AL &James Chambers, Montgomery, AL and one great,great granddaughter, Lylah Chambers, Houston, TX.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks tothe staff at Crowne HealthCare, her second family,who loved and cared forGladys her last few years.Her Graveside Service willbe Saturday, Aug. 27th at3:30 pm in GreenwoodCemetery with Pastor Michael Cassidy officiating.Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm prior to the serviceat Southern Memorial.
