Gertrude E. Ball, 87, of Pawling, NY, Formerly of Yonkers Passed away on June 19, 2007. She was born on January 16, 1920 in Yonkers to Eugene A. and Anna Flynn Buckley. Gertrude graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers and the Woods secretary school in N.Y., NY. She married her loving Husband Leslie Ball (Founder of the Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers) on June 9, 1945 at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers. He predeceased her on December 18, 2005. Gertrude lived in Yonkers for most of her life retiring to Pawling, NY in 1983. She was an Executive assistant for the Cleveland Tracker Company in NY, NY for 14 years, the Singer Company for two years and the Park Agency in New York City for 30 years retiring in 1983. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers and St. John's Church in Pawling. Gertrude was a member of the Jr. Assembly of Yonkers, the CYO and Post office Bowling Leagues, the Quaker Hill Country Club, Quaker Hill Civic Association and the Historical society of Quaker Hill and Pawling of which she was a past treasurer and the gardening club of Pawling. Besides her husband Gertrude is predeceased by her brothers and sisters Mary (Mae) Dunne, Irene Buckley, Eugene A. Buckley Jr. and Albert J. Buckley. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand Nieces and nephews, Great grand Nieces and Nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Gertrude on Friday June 22, 2007 at 10:45 Am at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers with Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers. The family will receive friends on Thursday June 21, 2007 at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
