FARRELL, Germaine (Renaud)July 13, 1916 - September 2, 2016It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mom, Germaine Farrell (nee Renaud) on Friday, September 2, 2016. She had just celebrated her 100th birthday in July. Born in Poltimore, Quebec, to a merchant family, she went on to study at Ecole Normale in Hull. After marriage, she and dad began raising their family in Farrellton, as well as working in the family general store and post office and supporting the Farrellton Community. They retired in 1985. After dad passed away, mom continued to live in Farrellton until she decided to live with her daughter Marjorie in Ottawa. Later, returning to live at Le Manoir de Wakefield and then lastly at CHSLD in Masham. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Farrell Jr. in 1990; her daughter Teresa in 1940; her brother Fernand Renaud and sister Venetia Pinkos. Left to grieve are her children, Marjorie (Edward Nelson), Leonard (Lorraine Lacelle), Bonita (late Bill McNulty), James (Grace Manarin), and Mary (Gilles Desjardins). She leaves 11 grandchildren: Mary-Lou Nelson, Sheri Nelson, Kimberly Barclay, Shannon Farrell, Anne-Marie McNulty, Melinda McNulty, Tamara McNulty, Shaun McNulty, Michelle Farrell, Jason Farrell, Jean-Rémi Desjardins, two step- grandchildren, Sharon Manarin and Glenn Manarin. She also leaves 18 great- grandchildren: Camryn and Spencer Thompson, Alex and Kristen Barclay, Kayla, Julianna and the late Justin Robinson, Emily and Meghan McNulty, Liam, Katelyn and Fiona Cochrane, Ashton LaFleur, Brianna and Reid McNulty, Robbie, Kassandra and Stephanie Jensen, Hudson and Georgia Farrell, 3 step-great-grandchildren, Matthew, Shen-Wu and Emily Tan, and her great-great- grandson, Ash Woodruff. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, Carling Chapel, 2313 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, ON,K2B 7G3, 613-828-2313on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Thursday to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 153 Woodroffe Avenue for mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m., followed by reception and the interment at St. Camillus Cemetery, Farrellton, QC. In remembrance, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Le Manoir de Wakefield and the CHSLD Masham.
