Gail D. Williams, 60, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, March 10, 2011. Born on December 26, 1950 in Danville, VA, Gail was the daughter of the late Christopher and Cinderlla (Nee: Robertson) Williams. She was raised and educated in Danville, moved to Long Island, NY, for a short time and settled in Schenectady in 1972. She worked at General Electric Co. in Schenectady until her death. Gail loved to travel and see the world, she enjoyed shopping and especially riding around on her motorcycle. In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by her brother, James Williams in 1995 and her grandson, Demetrius Bell. She is survived by her daughters, Nicole L. (Garry) Thompson of Colonie, NY, Michelle Williams and Layla Howard, both of Schenectady; brothers, Ricky Williams of Guilderland, NY, and Tony Williams of Schenectady; one sister, Helen Williams of Schenectady; two granddaughters, LaVonne Howard and Jada Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Dia and Aliea; nephews, Daniel and Ricky Williams, Jr. of Schenectady; and nieces, Nichelle Williams of Schenectady, Tamela Ford of Maryland, and Antoinette Hall of Florida. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Light's Funeral Home, 1428 State St., Schenectady.
