FURMAN PAUL"RED" SMITH, 98Red & Jerry Smith's Marine LAKELAND - Mr. Furman Paul "Red" Smith, 98 passed away Thur. Oct. 21, 2010 from natural causes. He was born in a mud hut in Syracuse, KS. On May 11, 1912, and moved to Lakeland from Ft. Wayne, IN in 1956. Red was the owner of Red and Jerry Smith's Marine in Lake Wales. He was a founding member of Victory Church in Lakeland, where he served as an usher for many years. Red was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Martha Louise Smith who passed away May 20, 2010, and also by his son, Jerry Lee Smith. He is survived by daughter, Darlene Smith Dean and her husband, Jule of Bartow; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, 10/29/10 from 2-3pm at Victory Church, Light of Lights Chapel. Services will follow at 3:00pm. Arrangements by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel.
