WOODS Funeral service for Deacon Leonard " Baby" Woods, who passed away April 2, 2003, will be held Thursday, April 10, 2003, at 11AM in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Rev. Kelly E. Brown, Jr., Pastor. Deacon Woods is a graduate of Old Stanton High School class of 1951. He marched in the Florida A&M Marching " 100" Band. Deacon Woods served in the US Air Force and received his honorable discharge. He was employed by Episcopal High School for many years as a chef in the pastry division. Deacon Woods was preceded in death by both of his parents, John and Mildred Woods. He was the leader of District #5 and Supervisor of the Hospitality Committee. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving aunt, Madelyn Towns and a niece, Joya Wilkerson; a host of sorrowing friends. Deacon Woods will rest in the mortuary for the visitation of friends on Wednesday (Today) from 4 PM-8 PM and in the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.
