Frederick "Fred" Benjamin Davis August 20, 1912 - October 25, 2005 Peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, Fred Davis in his 94th year. Predeceased by his first wife Muriel Gillies in 1985, his second wife Ruth Ferguson in 2000 as well as by his brothers, Billy in 1925 and Victor in 1983. Survived by his sister-in-law Fran Davis, niece Sarah Roberts (Manitoba) and nephew Benjamin Davis (Newfoundland). Fondly remembered by the Gillies and Ferguson families, as well as Bruce and Isabel MacRae and many other friends. Fred taught in several Burlington public schools and retired from the East Flamborough Assessment Department. He played drums in the Bennett Band from Carlisle, playing for area dances and latterly for Milton Senior's Band, entertaining at nursing homes. Fred was a popular resident at the Village Manor for several years. His sunny disposition, jokes and entertainment will be sadly missed. There will be a Memorial Service at EAST PLAINS UNITED CHURCH, 375 Plains Rd. E., Burlington on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. with inurnment of cremated remains to follow in the churchyard cemetery and a reception in the church hall.
