GILLARD, Franklin Edward - Passed away peacefully at home in Burlington on February 25, 2009 at the age of 89. Born in Oshawa, Ontario March 29, 1919 he is predeceased by his brother Kenneth and sister Grace (Pidduck), survived by his sister Caryne (Wilson). Frank spent most of his early adult life in Ajax, Ontario where he and his wife Pearl (Breault) raised their family. Frank was predeceased by Pearl in 1986. They are survived by their children Larry (Diana), Richard (Kelly) and Suzanne (Paul) Koenderman, 10 grandchildren and 5 ½ great- grandchildren. The last fifteen plus years of life were spent with his wife Mary (Spear) in their home in Burlington where they enjoyed a loving relationship with each other, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a large community of friends. Well known at their usual haunts for coffee, lunch or groceries, they were held in high esteem by everyone. Frank served in the Canadian Air Force during WW II and was a member of the Masonic order. A service and celebration of Frank's life will be held at St. John's United Church, 262 Randall St., Oakville, Ontario on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
