Frank Carter     Furbush Jr, 89     RAWHIDE CIRCLE, CASTLE ROCK, COLO. - Frank Carter Furbush, Jr. , passed away at the age of 89 on Dec. 28, 2007, after a short illness. He was the loving husband of Imogene Louise (Young) Furbush for 65 years. He was born on Sept. 28, 1918 in Bangor to Frank C. and Estelle (Gerst) Furbush.      Frank Furbush moved to Portland with his parents as an infant and was educated in the Portland schools, graduating from Portland High School in 1936, and the Shaw Business College in Portland.      Frank Furbush was a veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict, serving with the US Navy in the South Pacific theater surviving the sinking of the USS McKean. He remained active in the Naval Reserves for 40 years, having retired as a Chief Warrant Officer.     He was employed as a traffic manager for Congdon Transportation and Sanborn Motors for 42 years. He was a member of the following: North Deering Congregational Church of Portland, Corner Stone A.F. and A.M., York Rite Bodies and Scottish Rite - Valley of Portland, Kora Temple AAONMS in Lewiston, Kora Temple Legion of Honor, and the Lake Region Shrine Club.      Frank is survived by his wife Imogene; a daughter, Debra J. Carpenter of Derry, N.H., two sons, Richard C. (Cheryl) of Essex, Vt., and Donald E. (Diana) of Castle Rock, Colo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Doris Gene Briggs of Portland; two nephews, and one niece.      Funeral services were held at the Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Funeral Home in Castle Rock, Colo., on Dec. 31, 2007, at 10 a.m. The family is planning a memorial service in Portland followed by an interment at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta in the spring.
