MCDERMOTT, Francis William McDermott, age 81, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth McDermott, of Farmington formerly of Glenn Drive, Stratford, died Friday, March 21, 2003, in his home. Born in Williamsport, Pa., September 28, 1921, son of the late George and Alice Bower McDermott. Mr. McDermott resided in Stratford 17 years before moving to Farmington two years ago. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and retired from Avco Lycoming, Stratford, and was a financial aid officer at Housatonic Community College. He was a life member of Raymond Goldbach VFW Post 9460 and the Quarter Century Club at Avco Lycoming. Survivors include two sons, Patrick McDermott, of Rocky Hill, and Michael McDermott, of Valley Cottage, N.Y.; one daughter, Alice Marie Crystal, of Canton; two grandchildren, Courtney and Kelsey McDermott. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation, 410 Walnut Street, Williamsport, Pa.
