Sept. 14, 1929 Feb. 13, 2004<!-Francis P. Mooney --> Francis P. Mooney died on Friday at Crestwood Hospital. Born in the Bronx on September 14, 1929, Mr. Mooney had been a resident of Staten Island for approximately 18 years. He was a resident of Huntsville since 1985. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and served in Korea. He was employed by the U.S. Army after his discharge from the Air Force. He was a civilian employee at Redstone Arsenal. Mr. Mooney was a member of the Elks Lodge #1648, Kawanis Club, various model airplane associations, and the Tennessee Valley Aviators Chapter 518. Survivors include his wife, Kisako Mooney of Huntsville; mother, Violet Mooney of Holmdel, N.J.; two sisters, Violet Cronin of Boca Raton, Fla., and Catherine Smith of Staten Island, N.Y.; nine nieces and nephews; and 21 grand nieces and nephews. Services will be held at noon on Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home with Dr. Murray Joiner officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Tennessee.
