ObituaryFrancis Lafayette Murphy, 87, of Fort Myers went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2005. Wonderful father and devoted husband, Francis enjoyed a wide circle of extended family and dear friends.Preceded in death by his son Michael Frances Murphy, and brothers Pete Murphy and Cecil Murphy.Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Hazel Pace Murphy; sons Joe (Barbara) Murphy of Cape Coral, FL., Tom (Darlene) Murphy of North Fort Myers, FL., and Robert (Jennifer) Murphy of Brandon, FL.; daughter Delores Lewen of Colorado; sister Julia Glasure of Tampa, FL and brother Jake Murphy of North Ft. Myers, FL. Special nephews, Bill Penney and Steve Miller; and special niece Suzy Lance. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.Francis Lafayette Murphy, a World War II Veteran, was a graduate of Fort Myers High School and a loyal member of 56 years at Tice United Methodist Church. Mr. Murphy was the former manager of Palm City Ice and retired as the Manager of Creel Ford Tractor.The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hope Hospice in memory of Francis Murphy. A memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Tice United Methodist Church.
