MERIDEN - Francis H. Moreau, 87, husband of the late Marion (Burgess) Moreau, passed away on July 1, 2010 at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.Born in West Enfield, Maine on March 17, 1923, he was the son of Henry and Roseanna (Lovejoy) Moreau and had resided in Meriden since 1947. He attended schools in Maine. Mr. Moreau was employed by International Silver, Factory "R" and Zurbach Steel in Southington from where he retired. He was a veteran on World War II, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sergeant, where he served in the Asiatic Pacific area as a radio operator. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.He is survived by two daughters, Linda Gwara and her husband, Richard and Robin Macri and her husband, Joseph, all of Meriden; one son, Robert Moreau and his wife, Margorie of New Boston, N.H.; five grandchildren, Michelle Armstrong, Michael Gwara, Matthew and Ryan Macri and Katie Moreau; two great-grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle Armstrong; and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Carol Ann Smart.The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
