BUCKLEY, FRANCIS "FRANK" ELLIOT, 74, of Jeffersontown, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 27, 2014 with his wife by his side. He was born in Boston, MA, son of the late Mildred Norton Buckley. He was an industrial electrician, and also worked at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute during the inception of the Alvin project, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Frank loved his motorcycles, camping, fishing, boating, hunting, gardening and yard work with his best friend, Rosanna, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and St. Edward Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rosanna Schmitt Buckley; brothers-in-law, M. Owen Schmitt (Vivian), Louis C. Schmitt (Judy), F. Joseph Schmitt (Ann), and sister-in-law, Marilyn Schmitt; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; his special friend and physician, Dr. Barry Stoler; and all his back yard critters. A memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward Church, 9608 Sue Helen Dr., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m Monday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, "in St. Matthews." The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Baptist Health Louisville, Jefferson Place and friends at Baptist Health Rehab.
