FRANCES WILSON SMITHCOLUMBUS, OHIO - Frances Wilson Smith, 80, passed away Feb. 4, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio. Born Jan. 13, 1932 to the late James and Ruth Wilson of Asheville. Frances attended Stephens Lee High School. She entered the Army in the dental clinic in Fort Jackson, S.C., she made Sargent. Later moved to Columbus, Ohio and retired from the defense department. Surviving are daughter, Sherry and her husband, Emile Johnson, of Chicago; son, Derrick Smith of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Catelin of Chicago, Derrick Smith of the Army; sisters, Daisy Jones of Columbus, Ohio, Alice Adams of Ferenada Beach, Fla., Gloria Glenn and Harriet Danner of Asheville; 2 brothers, Larry and George Wilson of Columbus, Ohio; and 1 brother-in-law, Otis Danner; many other nieces and nephews. The service was held Feb. 8 at a Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio.
